It was no shock to hear that Nova Scotia has earned the worst grade in Canada for poverty reduction. Poverty is an ongoing series of institutional and government decisions and not the fault of individuals. Read the CBC story: Nova Scotia gets failing grade in poverty reduction, report says.

The Maple published an inteview that discusses the state of labour, worker rights and the labour movement in Atlantic Canada.
The summary? Nova Scotia is anti-labour, anti-worker, work is precarious, the labour movement is weak and workers are resigned to the idea that it is the way it is.
